In brief: Psion gets share boost

Psion shares have soared, following the announcement of its joint venture with Ericsson, Motorola and Nokia. Stock rose by 40 per cent on Wednesday on the strength of Symbian, which will use Psion's embattled Epoc operating system. But analysts think the share rise may be short-lived, as Microsoft's handheld operating system - Windows CE - continues to grow.
