US-based distributor, CHS has bought German computer group, Vobis from owners Metro AG for $660m (£413m).
The German group is made up of Maxdata computer GmbH - a distributor of private-label products including Belinea monitors and Artist PCs - and Germany's fourth largest IT equipment distributor, Peacock System GmbH.
Also included in the deal is Vobis Assembly - a build-to-order company currently producing over one million machines a year.
The final part of the deal is Vobis Microcomputer - a retailer with 813 stores in 11 European countries. CHS is to sell this part of the business.
