Microsoft is pushing Windows CE into the embedded systems market, with the signing up of a number of resellers that specialise in that sector.
The company is hoping that the stripped down version of its Windows operating system (OS) will be adopted by makers of consumer devices such as next generation mobile phones. Although CE has made inroads into the palmtop market, it has suffered from mobile phone vendors choosing Psion's Epoc platform.
