US government forces Microsoft to hand over Windows code

By Dominic Maher

Microsoft has been forced by US government prosecutors to hand over the blueprints for its Windows software in its antitrust case against the US Department of Justice (DoJ).

The DoJ would also like to question Bill Gates for two days - much longer than he would like. The prosecutors want him available for the extra 12 hours just in case they are not satisfied with his answers to their questions.

Microsoft has also been accused of dragging its feet in scheduling depositions from 14 other Microsoft employees, including president, Steve Ballmer.
