Silicon Graphics posts $44m dollar loss

Silicon Graphics has posted a loss of $44m for the quarter ending 30 September. Turnover was $616m, down from $768m for the same period last year.

In a statement, chairman Richard Belluzzo said: "Reporting a loss is never satisfying, but I am very encouraged with the progress demonstrated in this quarter's results."
