Microsoft escapes anti-trust action in Japan

An investigation by the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) into Microsoft's business practices has ended without anti-trust action.

The Japanese authority has decided there is no need to open a case against the software vendor for anti-competitive practices in the browser market, bringing the 12-month investigation to an end.

The JFTC had voiced concerns about contracts Microsoft had with some Internet Service Providers - but the company has since amended those contracts.
