Gateway takes Necx stake

Gateway has bought a 20 per cent stake in online computer retailer, Necx for a reported $21m.

The direct PC vendor hopes the deal will provide it with a larger Web presence for its products.

Gateway plans to start a site named SpotShop.com to attract customers for after-sales purchases such as peripherals and software.
