NEC has released a desktop PC and notebook in Asia which feature fingerprint ID functions, according to news reports. The company's Mate NX desktop and VersaPro NX notebooks will be aimed at business users who have tighter security needs.
The system is designed to let only the individual whose fingerprint has been registered boot up the computer.
