IT managers who deploy thin-client applications within their networks are reducing the cost of running them by up to 80 per cent, according to research from Gartner Group's Datapro unit.
Based on interviews with 25 IT managers, the report also states that staff levels are up to five times less for companies who have a thin-client set-up.
Research has shown that user preference is one of the factors for companies not making the switch users believe they will lose out on something if their PCs were to be replaced.
