UK software company RiverSoft has released an operating system specifically designed as a platform for network management applications.
Called i3philOSophy, it is designed to find out exactly what is on the network and pass information to any network management application. RiverSoft will design its own applications to run on the system, but is also licensing the software for third party developers.
Mike Silvey, vice president of marketing at RiverSoft, said the company has already signed up its first OEM partner - Silverback Technologies. The network management operating system is aimed at service providers and enterprise customers.
