Microsoft promotes interoperability with Unix

Microsoft has launched Interix 2.2, a product allowing users to run Unix applications over Windows 2000 and NT operating systems.

The software giant said the product is designed to encourage interoperability between the different operating environments.

Interix 2.2 is designed to encourage users who want to migrate from Unix to proprietary environments, but haven't time to re-write applications.
