Paisley University in Scotland has outsourced its network management to communications company, Milgo, in an effort to ease the workload of its IT support staff.
In a three-year, £150,000 management and maintenance deal, Milgo will support Paisley's systems across four Nortel-based networks on campus.
Tony Shaw, Paisley University's IT Director, explained the cost/benefit analysis completed before the decision had shown outsourcing the network will save money and ensure network availability at all times.
Shaw said Milgo had been chosen as the service provider because of its willingness to tailor its service to Paisley's network rather than offering them an off-the-shelf product.
