The Welsh Assembly has announced a £16m investment to provide information and computer technology for education.
The Assembly's Education Information Computer Technology Strategy aims to ensure social inclusion, and will provide computer and telecoms access for teachers, students, adult learners, low-income families and those with special needs.
Specifically, the investment will establish ICT suites for around 200 selected secondary schools. These suites will also be available for evening and weekend use by students and adult learners.
The Assembly also intends to develop ICT learning centres in 1,000 public libraries, youth centres and other public access areas.
The money will also pay for low income families to have access to refurbished computers.
