Carrier1, the European long distant carrier service, has signed up network management company Riversoft to supervise its IP infrastructure.
Riversoft will install its philosophy network management operating system (NMOS), which will automatically map the entire network and provide topology data for accurate troubleshooting.
Paul Wynne director of Internet operations at Carrier1 said: "This will allow us to combine into one system the functions of many systems while saving us time on administration."
He said that the software can access any problem through one central screen.
Riversoft claims the installation will save Carrier1 at least 78 lost working days a year in network topography configuration - deciding where component parts of the network need to be physically located.
