Novell launches Backup Service to avoid server downtime

By Dominic Maher

Published: 11 May 2000 16:13 BST

Novell has launched Backup Service for NetWare, which will allow network administrators to backup NetWare 4.x and 5.x servers in real-time.

By minimising server downtime, companies will be able to keep networks running at all times and do not have to add traffic to complete backup processes.

Backing up a system normally increases traffic during the process and this invariably leads to servers going down. Backup Service for NetWare allows users to do the necessary backup as and when it is needed without affecting network use.
