The proposed merger between Corel and Inprise/Borland has been cancelled by mutual agreement, with no termination fees from either company.
Despite the agreement three months ago, Corel decided it would be best to terminate at this time. However, the two companies made clear they will continue to pursue any opportunities for ongoing partnerships.
In a prepared statement, Michael Cowpland, president and CEO, said: "Although we are disappointed the merger didn't proceed as planned, it hasn't changed our strategic focus."
