Oracle has launched an online skills exchange where developers will be able to sell their technical skills and collaborate on open source projects across the world.
The OTN Xchange is the first of its kind according to Oracle and will help to plug the worldwide IT skills gap.
Developers will link to the site to sell or auction their own technical skills and also buy them from others to work on joint projects.
The network has been operating for some time before this launch and according to Brian Behlendorf, CTO of Collab.Net, one of Oracle's technical partners on the exchange, at the current join-up level it is one of the fastest growing developer communities on the web.
