Sonic the Hedgehog is to make his debut on handheld computers under a deal between Sega, Compaq and software firm Synovial.
Sega will work with wireless software specialists Synovial to produce an iPaq enabled version of the game.
While Sonic fans in the US can already buy mobile phones featuring the punk-haired hero, this will be Sonic's first appearance on a PDA.
The Synovial software will incorporate three other Sega games and IPaq users can download extra games from the internet for a fee.
