Microsoft is facing legal action from South Korean ISP Daum Communications over its Windows XP operating system.
Daum lodged a complaint with the Korean Fair Trade Commission accusing Microsoft of unfair practises with its bundling of functions such as instant messaging, internet telephony and digital picture handling onto its XP operating system.
In a statement, Daum, who enjoys 20 per cent of Korea's instant messaging market, said that because of Microsoft's "monopolistic position" local PC makers are forced to buy Windows XP.
Microsoft, who controls 90 per cent of Korea's operating system market, would not comment on the complaint.
Windows XP is due for release on 25 October.
