Microsoft has posted a patch to enable XP to run on a range of AMD mobile computers.

Early versions of XP are missing a crucial file that allows users to run a battery-saving technology called Powernow! on certain laptops with AMD processors.

The problem affects Athlon 4 and Duron mobile processor chips. Affected users can download a patch from the Microsoft site.
