US authorities have arrested three people after the biggest ever seizure of counterfeit software.
The haul, in Los Angeles, could have been sold on for as much as $100m. It included 31,000 copies of Windows software, forged certificates of authenticity, end user manuals and CD case liners. It was all but indistinguishable from the real thing.
Two containers of fake Marlboro cigarettes were also found.
Two of the men arrested allegedly offered a customs officer a $50,000 bribe to get the goods passed through customs.
