Microsoft faces 20 December showdown with Mr Monti

This union ain't big enough for the both of us...

EU commissioners have set a 20 December date for their showdown with Microsoft.

Mario Monti, the competition commissioner spearheading the case, will attempt to prove that the Redmond software giant gained an unfair advantage over competitors through anti-competitive behaviour.

The EU yesterday fined a pharmaceutical cartel a record £534m for price fixing in the vitamin market over a nine-year period.
