
Linux lovers could be in for a surprise too...

The nine US states who have so far rejected all moves for a settlement in the long running Microsoft anti-trust case could ask for concessions which would benefit the Apple and Linux communities.
A remedy proposal currently under discussion with a Washington judge is expected to include a condition which would require Microsoft to continue to offer its Office software suite on the two rival platforms.
Microsoft and Apple's five-year deal to carry Office on Macs is due to expire next August.
According to the WSJ the revised proposal will be presented later today.
