Dutch electronics giant Philips has signed a five-year $5bn deal to supply computer components to Dell.
The agreement includes the supply of cathode-ray tubes, flat-panel monitors and storage devices.
The $5bn value of the deal is based on projections of 25 per cent year-on-year growth.
As part of the deal, Dell will become a preferred supplier to Philips of server and data-storage products, workstations and PCs.
