Linux vendor Caldera has lost its CTO, laid off 15 per cent of its workforce and said it will fail to meet Q2 profits targets - all in one day.

The company said it will report second quarter revenues of between $15.1m and $15.5m, compared to the $18m it originally forecast.

The Linux outfit also said it will be slashing 15 per cent of its workforce - 73 people.

Caldera's CTO Drew Spencer and chief legal council Harrison Colter also announced they are leaving the company.

Caldera will be closing its office in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, but will keep its German operations running.

Caldera is set to report on 29 May.
