Struggling PC maker Gateway has named two new execs to head up key business segments within the company as it tries to turn itself around.
The company announced that Scott Edwards is joining the company as executive vice president in charge of consumer-related sales and marketing efforts for Gateway. David Turner will have similar duties for the business segment as a senior vice president at the company.
The appointments are part of a larger organisational overhaul at the flagging firm. Despite reasonably positive holiday sales for other PC makers, Gateway was not able to measure up through the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in the US, which led into the traditional bumper sales period of Christmas.
Gateway CEO Ted Waitt told attendees at a conference last month that unless sales improve soon, the company could be forced into declaring a profit warning.
