BT is to supply closed circuit television services to SouthWest Trains in a deal worth £1.3m.
Video cameras on all of SouthWest Train's stations will be linked by BT's ISDN2 lines to three control centres, in a bid to cut down on platforms crime.
Real-time video images will be transmitted from these cameras through BT's RS1000 optic fibre lines. The security systems are due be up and running by the end of 1998.
