Mediasurface completes financing mission

By John Oates

Published: 4 August 1999 17:24 BST

Mediasurface has completed its third round of financing and raised £6.5m - valuing the company at £26.5m.

The UK content management company is opening offices in France and Germany and aims to treble its size by next January. The funding has been provided by Amadeus, Index Ventures, DKB, 3i and Elderstreet.

Founder and CEO of Mediasurface, Ben Hayman, said: "Raising money here, compared to the US has always been difficult but it is changing. Venture capital firms here are adapting the tactics of companies on the West Coast."

Hayman claimed the evidence for this was the increasing number of US companies looking to ally with European VC companies.
