Intel has announced the first beneficiary of its $200m communications fund. Trillium Digital systems will receive an undisclosed sum, although Intel has said no company will get more than $10m.
Trillium will develop its communications software for telephony, Internet, wireless and broadband networks, to Intel's recently announced network processor and its Internet Exchange (IX) Architecture. It will also develop its software to compliment the embedded Intel Architecture (IA) processors to deliver a broad range of network services to the Internet.
Intel created the $200 million communications fund to invest in companies supporting Intel's initiatives in voice and data communications.
