Trafficmaster, the provider of traffic information systems, has entered into a four-year agreement with Britax, the manufacturer of in-car rearview mirrors, to display traffic information on interior mirrors in vehicles.
The two companies will develop products to display traffic flow and data on the mirrors and will also be available on GSM mobile phones around Europe.
The companies are in talks with various car manufacturers for the implementation of these systems by 2001.
Meanwhile, Trafficmaster is also looking to expand its car-tracking system to the US this year in a joint venture with Motorola. It's planning to launch in the home of the motor industry, Detroit, and is starting to install roadside sensors in Detroit's main thoroughfares.
