The US Department of Justice (DoJ) is continuing its crusade against anti-competitiveness in the Internet sector after it confirmed late last Friday it was moving on to probe the openness of digital markets.
According to US reports, the DOJ has begun investigating a business to business site for the travel industry, code named T2.
The site has many big names supporting it, including American Airlines and United Airlines, and totals 30 US and non-US carriers.
The move is seen by analysts as a sign the DOJ will be paying close attention to emerging digital marketplaces to ensure customers are protected from price fixing.
