
BT Openworld, the international internet divison of BT, is trialling a free music download technology similar to Napster.

However, unlike the controversial music sharing initiative, BT's service, available solely to BT Openworld customers, prohibits file sharing over the internet and downloaded tracks expire automatically after a period of time.
BT is launching the trial, which ends on 12 January, in partnership with Playlouder and Window Media.
