
LinuxWorld Expo in New York rewarded the efforts of Linux vendors and developers with awards for innovation with the open source code.

One such contribution includes PocketLinux from open communication specialist, Transvirtual. The company linked a Compaq iPaq to the web running its PocketLinux framework via a wireless LAN card.
In the best developer tools section at the show was a Linux-based router, running Embedix from Lineo, developed for home or small business use. Other firms, including Serve Linux and Celestix, also showcased servers running Linux.
The six categories for the best products on show in New York, were: Best developer tools; Best hardware; Best productivity application; Best system integration solution; Best network/server application and Best embedded Linux solution.
