UK chip designer ARM has posted strong results for the three months ended 31 December.
The company reported pre-tax profits of £13.8m for the quarter - an increase of 38 per cent on the same period last year.
The results were at the high-end of analysts' forecasts.
For fiscal 2001 ARM saw its pre-tax profits surge to £50.3m - a year-on-year increase of 42 per cent.
ARM chairman Sir Robin Saxby said in a statement: "We do not expect a quick industry recovery in 2002 but we do expect another year of growth for ARM."
