The return of the Gadget Showdown...
Published: 8 February 2002 13:00 GMT
Following the success of our silicon.com Christmas television giveaway special, the Gadget Showdown returns with an in-depth look at the future of mobile phones.
The show features some fantastic prizes, and takes a look at one of the first ever 3G mobile phones to make it to the UK.
You've heard the hype - log on to http://www.silicon.com/a51182 to see if it's worth it.
We'll also give you a look at some of the latest mobile handsets and PDAs, including Nokia's sensational 9210, the Ericsson T68 - complete with colour screen - and the Nokia 5510 with its built-in mp3 player.
And for all you acronym lovers, we compare and contrast HSCSD and GPRS.
Unless you watch, you won't find the answers to the silicon.com competition quiz. We've got two Nokia 3330 phones from BTCellnet up for grabs, each coming with £160 worth of vouchers to put towards line rental and call charges when you connect them.
We're also giving away a year's worth of free SMS football updates to the runners up. You'll also have a chance to win an Imation FlashGO! multi-connector, which will link your computer up to any one of six different portable storage media. Download your pictures from a SmartMedia camera and upload your mp3s to a Sony memory stick in the blinking of an eye!
Haven't won any of those? Never mind. You can say goodbye to those flat phone battery blues with one of our two Teleadapt TeleChargers, which let you charge up your mobile from your computer's USB port. Lovely!
