
Dev Forum will be almost PC-less...

Intel is set to focus on its latest server chip technologies almost to the exclusion of PCs at its Developer Forum in San Francisco later this month.
The event starts on 25 February, and according to CNet reports, the chip giant will focus heavily on McKinley-based servers as well as Xscale networking products.
Intel CTO Pat Gelsinger said there will be more McKinley's on show than ever before, as the firm ramps up promotion of its next generation 64-bit Itanium server processors.
In spite of a spate of downbeat forecasts from the chip industry recently, Intel claims the market is set to pick up later in 2002.
