Intel has narrowed its sales forecast for the first quarter after reporting that potential profits have been reduced by a weak wireless chip business.
The California-based company has tightened its forecast made in January to $6.6bn to $6.9bn, down from its original estimate of $6.4bn to $7bn.
However, the company said nothing else had changed in its expectations.
Intel said the microprocessor business is following regular seasonal sale patterns but the wireless chip market has remained weak.
