A group of US volunteers has been fitted with tiny chips, which contain personal and medical information.
The chips were surgically implanted inside the upper arm of eight volunteers last Friday. Doctors and other medical personnel can read the patient's information with a special scanner.
The chip is manufactured by US specialist Applied Digital Solution and is part of its VeriChip range mostly used in pets. The initial trial will consist of 50 volunteers in Florida
