Memory plays pop

PC components maker, Memory Corporation, is to broaden its horizons by staking a claim to the growing market in Net-based consumer appliances.
The company has launched MP3-GO, an Internet audio system aimed at the growing numbers accessing the Net through dedicated devices rather than PCs.
The system consists of three parts - a portable music store, capable of storing up to 100 CDs of data, a portable player and an 'audio Internet port', used to connect to ecommerce sites.
The company is also expected to change its name in line with the new strategy.
