BA planes get Y2K green light
By John Oates
Published: Wednesday 07 July 1999
British Airways has been given the Y2K all clear, after UK Civil Aviation Authority officials tested one of its planes on a flight from London to the south of France.
While fears remain that the bug could cause most damage at airports and air traffic control centres, BA claimed passenger fears have now been allayed, as bookings for the period are up 150 per cent.
The airline also revealed that its Y2K programme cost £100m.
