Samsung signs $6m deal for Geo chip technology

Geo Interactive Media has signed a $6m licensing agreement with Samsung Electronics.

The Japanese electronics giant will be the first company to install Geo's Emblaze A3 chip technology into its mobile handsets, which will enable two way video communication.

The A3 video chip is an enhanced version of Geo's A2 chip. However, it allows video to be sent as well as received on the mobile phone, which its predecessor was unable to do.

Under the agreement Samsung will also pay Geo royalties from handset sales worldwide.

The handsets will go into production next year.
