Considering hitting the shops at the weekend? Looking for inspiration? Check out the next in our new series of gadget mini-reviews, courtesy of silicon.com's sister site CNET.co.uk, the home of technology reviews. For the full review and details, click on the link below.

What is it:
Smart phone with eight megapixel camera

We like:
GPS; HSDPA; wi-fi; 16GB on-board memory; eight megapixel camera with cool panorama mode

We don't like:
Touch-sensitive navigation pad is fiddly to use at times; lack of xenon flash on the camera; screen could be sharper

The judgement:
Samsung has taken us by surprise by creating an excellent handset that feels like it could have been made by Nokia. If you're looking for a high-end handset with almost every feature currently available - and then some - the i8510 is the phone for you
