In brief: Compaq announces Q2 loss

Compaq today announced a second quarter net loss of $3.6bn (£2.2bn). Turnover was $5.8bn (£3.6bn), up 5.7 per cent from the same period last year, while income for the quarter was $32m (£20m) excluding charges connected to the Digital acquisition.
