HP opts for Linux

Hewlett-Packard (HP) will be supporting the Linux operating system (OS) by providing European Internet service providers (ISPs) with server solutions based on the open source OS.

HP has also announced a five-point plan for Linux that includes the installation of Red Hat Linux 6.0 on HP NetServers plus certification, a support package for Linux-packaged servers and training events for resellers, with the first taking place in Germany this summer.
