Mirror Image teams up with Sun servers to skip "world wide wait"

By Dominic Maher

Published: 30 September 1999 13:08 BST

Mirror Image Internet has deployed Sun Enterprise 6500 servers on its content delivery network in London and Frankfurt. The network addition will use the existing architecture to handle the traffic of the entire UK and German markets.

The network relieves bandwidth needs of global Internet traffic, of which 75 per cent is carried by Mirror Image.

Using advanced load balancing, the aim is to reduce the time taken between query responses.
