Intel is to ship its new 64-bit Itanium chip at a lower processor speed than expected, according to press reports.
Intel said the majority of its new chips would ship at 733MHz, far slower than Intel's recent 1GHz offerings for its 32-bit architecture, and lower than the expected 800MHz.
A report on Cnet said Intel expects to sell the chip in the fourth quarter this year.
