Dell customer complaints have shot up nearly 40 per cent over the last year.

A study by Planet Feedback, a US consumer consultancy, found out that American Dell customers were getting increasingly dissatisfied with the computer giant's customer service and technical support.

The consumer site registered over 4,800 complaints about Dell's support services in the past year, up 40 per cent from the previous period.

Most of the complaints were concerned with the amount of time it took Dell to respond to a support query.

Dell was unavailable for comment.
