IBM has won a major contract to provide consumer products group, Colgate-Palmolive with server, storage, software and desktop infrastructure to underscore its SAP-based business applications.
Colgate-Palmolive will deploy IBM eServer pSeries Unix servers, IBM TotalStorage Enterprise Storage Servers and Tivoli enterprise management software. The technology will support an SAP network which already provides supply chain, order entry, accounts receivable, human resources and data warehousing functionality to the firm's business operations in 51 countries.
Ed Toben, Colgate-Palmolive's CIO, said in a statement: "In making our selection, we were looking for a trusted partner, as well as industry leading products and the most robust technology roadmap."
No financial details were disclosed.
