The Birth of Hi-Tech Britain exhibition, currently taking place at the Science Museum in London, sees the 1950s sci-fi icon Dan Dare meet the vacuum tubes, dials and buttons of post-World War II computing.

Curator of mechanical engineering at the Science Museum, Ben Russell, talks silicon.com through the display, which juxtaposes the Dan Dare comics with a golden age of technology.
