Storage company, Adaptec, is to cut 200 of its staff in a radical restructuring move. The redundancies are the latest in a series of layoffs totalling 850 so far - around 25 per cent of the company's workforce.

The current round of redundancies will come from the company's fibre channel products and external storage solutions divisions. Adaptec also announced plans to spin off of its satellite networking division, saying it will return to its core strengths in server and workstation I/O and Raid solutions.
